Day 1: Arrival, city tour & transfer to Ruhengeri.

Rwanda Gorilla Safaris Upon arrival, you will be picked up from Kanombe international airport in Kigali by our ever on time driver and straight away head for a city tour starting from Nyamata memorial genocide site where over 5000 people were killed and buried during the 1994 genocide.Visit the first house, the national museum, do some shopping and then after wards drive to Ruhengeri and check in at Mountain gorilla view lodge/La palm hotel/ Muhabura hotel/. Meals here are based on full board.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes & Visit Twin Lakes

Rwanda Gorilla Trip Rise up very early in the morning and have breakfast and thereafter proceed to volcanoes national park in Musanze district. Head straight to the park offices for briefing about the gorillas and allocation of gorilla groups and guides.Thereafter get into the tropical rain forest and search for the mountain gorillas starting from where they were the previous day until you find them.You will find them doing their daily chores of feeding their young ones, climbing trees and others just relaxing. Take your best photographs having switched off your flash.This whole exercise takes a maximum of 1 hour and then return to the park offices for your gorilla tracking certificate. Return to the hotel for lunch and some relaxation.Afternoon, take a tour to the lake and see the exceptional caves around the lake and take remembrances photos with lots of fun poses near the caves then return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Day 3: Transfer to Akagera national Park.

Rwanda Gorilla trip Wake up in the warm morning and enjoy your breakfast, Later jump into the safari land cruiser and transfer to Akagera National Park arrive in kigali at around 11am and continue to akagera reaching in the lunch time hours.After lunch you will go for evening game drive with the experienced tour guide.Later in evening check in the hotel for dinner & overnight at Akagera Game lodge/ Ruzizi tented camp. Meals Full Board.

Day 4: Game drive & Boat Cruise

Rwanda Gorilla trip Wake up so early for your breakfast and proceed for a morning game drive to catch up with the early risers and predators returning to their hideouts.The game drive will reward you with chances to see a variety elephants, buffaloes, lions, Masai giraffe, gazelles, impala, baboons, orbit, topi, bush baby, leopard and bush buck among others.Return to the Lodge for late breakfast and relax as we wait for lunch. Later this afternoon we may enjoy a Boat ride on Lake Ihema, which will reward you with large number of hippos, huge Nile crocodiles and about 525 bird species. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

Day 5: Transfer to Kigali

Wake up very early in the morning , go for morning game drive in the other section of the park and later return to the lodge to enjoy breakfast and proceed to Kigali arrive at lunch hours time and enjoy it.In the afternoon you will go for city tour to visit the local markets and do shopping in the local craft centers. Later be dropped to the airport of hotel of your choice to enjoy flight back home.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: City tour in Rwanda—Drive to Butare (Huye)

Upon Arrival at Kigali International Airport you will be welcomed by the tour guide of Active African Vacations and he will brief you about the safari and start with the city tour of the great Kigali visiting the genocide memorials and enjoy your lunch in Chez Roberts , after transfer to Butare City in Rwanda.Dinner and Overnight at Hotel IBIS Meals on B/B or equivalent

Day 2: Visit Nyanza Palace and Museum

After morning breakfast at the lodge, you start with the visit to the national museum, visit the genocide and later transfer to Nyanza Palace to explore the great history of Rwandan Kingship and the remains of the Palace that is still existing in Rwanda.During the visit in the nyanza Palace you will move around the palace with the royal guards .Dinner and Overnight at IBIS Meals on B/B or equivalent

Day 3: Drive to Nyungwe National park.

Have Morning breakfast and Transfer to Nyungwe Forest national Park the known home for Chimps and arrive before afternoon to enable you enjoy the evening canopy walk, during this activity you will enjoy watching birds and other primates while on top of the trees with the experienced assistance of park rangers. Dinner and Overnight at Gisakura Guest house / Nyungwe hilltop View Hotel. Meals on F/B Nyungwe Forest National Park

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking-Nyungwe Forest

Wake up very early in the morning to enjoy breakfast and after take a 1 Hour drive to the starting point of Chimpanzee Tracking for briefing about the rules and regulations to be followed by Chimp trekkers in Nyungwe forest national Park.After enter into the jungle to search for the primates as you may spot other primates like monkeys & birds . Once found you will stay with them for 1 hour and after enjoy your packed lunch , Return to the lodge for Relaxation . Dinner and Overnight as Above

Day 5: Tea harvesting with the Local people—in the evening associate more with the locals.

The fertile volcanic soil and temperate climate are perfect for growing the plants that create this popular drink for local and visitors in Nyungwe forest, and during this village visit to tea Plantation.You will engage yourself in the tea collection with the locals as a way to discover how tea is harvested, processed, and even get to taste the results. This is a great family trip and travelers of all ages welcome.Dinner and Overnight as Above.

Day 6: Dive to Gisenyi (Lake Kivu)

After morning Break fast, you will embark into the safari jeep and take a four hours journey to Lake Kivu, arrive in the time of lunch and after lunch enjoy relaxation on the shoes of the lake. Dinner and overnight at Paradise malahindi.

Day 7: Have a boat cruise on lake.

Have breakfast, and then go for Boat cruise on lake kivu water and visiting the villages for fisher men and local people, after return for lunch and in evening enjoy relaxation on the shoes of the lake Kivu beach and dinner and overnight . Dinner and Overnight at Paradise malahindi

Day 8: Have the Village walk and spend the whole day interacting with locals
